Omaha Zoo

We made a family and friends all day trip to the Omaha Zoo on Sunday. We got up at...well I don't remember but it was early. We met Katie and her kids at McDonald's in North KC and headed 3 hours North. We got to the zoo at 9:30 am and we stayed till they were locking doors (about 7pm) . We had a great day and my favorite was the new butterfly exhibit and the penguins OH and the aquarium. Griffin loved the train (because there was no dark tunnel). I think it was real size train not the little kid ones at the KC ZOO. (remembering something about WWI train but not sure) If you have never been to this zoo you are missing out, this is our second trip (Jonathan was 2) and It is still right up there on the favorite list. The Extra kids you see on the Train is Jacob and Ashlyn. Katie had to take all the pictures because I forgot to charge the camera battery before we left and it died after picture number 2 in the first 5 minutes of the trip. (I think I have learned my lesson, I will get a back up battery) Thanks for that Katie sure appreciate it! At least one of us is on top of their stuff. (oh wait who forgot SHOES???) Let's see what else...This week we hung around the house I have been a little under the weather and today finally have a voice so we went to the zoo this morning for our walk but looks like tomorrow we will be hanging at home I picked Jonathan up from school and he had a "brainache" gave him some Tylenol and tucked him in bed now he has a fever and talking in his sleep so looks like tomorrow we are staying home. YAY! He just finished his medicine from Strep and now he has something else...poor kid I feel sorry for him he only has 5 days of summer school left and now he is sick again. Matt is going on a 'mancation' yes he made that up it is ridiculous however I can't stop saying it. He and some buddies are going somewhere on the lake to get sunburned and call me crying ;) Mom and Dad are on the way to Canada by car ride, so I am here all by myself with a sick kid and a soon to be bleeding ulcer from the worry. It should be a fun, fun weekend. I hope there is something good on TV or I willhave to clean the house or something. I am noticing now that the blogger window is separating the pictures with words so keep scrolling down for more photos. Katie caught Griffin and Halsey in a tender moment and one of my favorite pictures from the aquarium (just in case, that is a jellyfish). I might do more pictures of the zoo in a couple days there are so many good ones. I am still trying to get my video to download too I got Griffin talking like crazy it is just too big of file for blogger so I have to figure out how to edit YIKES maybe I should just start over....ah well until next week...
