Yesterday was a B-A-D day in case you have not guessed by the photo... Griffin was playing in the driveway while Jonathan was inside asleep with his 103.3 degree fever and Halsey was swinging away taking a little nap so I grabbed the baby monitor and took Griffin to the driveway to ride his bike a few minutes. He was playing away standing next to the concrete wall in the driveway and somehow managed to pull this giant cement rock (coffee mug placed there for size comparison) smack down on his little baby foot. We went in the house to calm down, wash up and take a good look. After 30 minutes of wailing and he can't wiggle his toes or stand or even let me touch it we took a little trip to the ER. I loaded Jonathan (with a fever) Griffin (with an ice pack)and Halsey (trying to nap) in the car to get some x-rays. Griffin was a champ hardly cried when they took 6 x-rays of his ankle and foot, ER Doctor was great and said he didn't see anything broken, possibly a fracture he would wrap it up and give him some Tylenol with codeine and give us a call in a few days if the radiologist saw anything more. The cutest nurse wrapped him all up in bandages and cleaned him up (I told her Griffin had a handsome uncle but she had a boyfriend) We made an appointment to see Dr Harris on Tuesday and see when he thinks we can unwrap and try to walk. Griffin is supposed to stay completely off of his feet until then. Has anyone ever tried to tell a 2 year old they can' t get off the couch? I don't recommend it, although today he is doing pretty good. He says "Hey Mommy I can't walk with this big big ban-aid on my hoot" Last night he didn't sleep much he cried all most the whole night the Tylenol with codeine doesn't do much for him and since I am home by myself this weekend I couldn't go get him any Motrin. It was a rough night with no sleep but we made it through.
Thanks Marcia for coming out yesterday morning and watching Griffin and Halsey so I could take Jonathan to the doctor and for the evening ER phone moral support.
and a big Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa King for coming out this morning so I could take Jonathan back the Doctor and go get Griffin his Motrin then sticking around while I get a few things done around here. I hope I say enough how much I appreciate all your help.
For the final note Griffin is resting soundly on the couch so I think tonight will be a little better. Jonathan's fever has finally broke and he asked for a cheeseburger so he too is on the road to recovery. Now I am just hoping Griffin and Halsey don't get the virus Jonathan had. So until next week or my next horrifying parental experience, you all have a great day out there! :)

Oh my goodness poor Griffin!! Glad nothing is broken, that sucks you have to keep him off it though! Good luck with that!! Lol...that's hilarious you tried to set the nurse up...you crack me up!
stupid boyfriends!
Wow.....hope that Griffin & Jonathan are better now. It would have to be hard to try to keep a 2 1/2 year old from walking. I think that you need a ladies night soon. Get some rest when you can. It was good seeing you at the zoo. Momma Holt
Oy! Poor thing! How's he feeling now? I can't imagine keeping him off of that for any amount of time.
Scary! So glad he's ok. You've had a rough go this week. Your children are beautiful!
