Do I dare eat the tomatoes?

Every year about this time when tomatoes around the world are vine ripening, i hear them whisper my name. There is not a better food I can think of that I look forward to more come spring/summer. I love a good ripe homegrown tomato they just taste better. And how delicious do these look? however, I am afraid to eat them. do I throw them in the trash and wait until the great tomato scare of 2008 is over and the threat of salmonella no longer exists? or do I risk it and hope the farmers market dude does not have his tomatoes shipped in from California? Hmmmm, I must ponder this longer, still I can not decide, until then...This week has been a week of many milestones. Griffin is talking like never before, Jonathan started school and on the same day Halsey was sooo close to rolling over I watched her all day in amazement just in case. I was however resisting the urge to push her back over when she was leaning to the side, come on there is a limit to what I can take in one day. Jonathan in school and my baby rolling over on the same day might just send me to the loony bin. Jonathan seems delighted by the idea of going to school everyday and got bright eyed when I said for the next 13 years, or more if he chooses to take himself to college. He thinks he should start saving. I hope he is always this smart...

Carly and Griffin enjoyed some Ritz crackers on thier first date. My Friend Jenn and her daughter Carly came to visit on Friday morning we spent a few hours mesmerized by our children. Talking and chatting into the afternoon, catching up on last year and talking about plans for next year. Definitely Looking forward to them moving back to the states next year. Texas is so much easier to travel to than Australia. Still a bittersweet visit, I always have a good cry when she leaves because she is so far away and email does us no justice, and a few hours a year is just not enough *tear* i love you Jenn, Dan and Carly It was great to see you, make it back home safe and we will see you soon!

and now for some artwork by Jonathan. From the boy who for the last 5 1/2 years told me he 'can't' color. One day last week he picks up a magna doodle and can draw people, cars and trains. this is a sketch of mommy (notice i am very tall with pretty hair), daddy and Jonathan all holding hands with love. from the boy who does not ever color or draw, this is a big accomplishment. I wanted to keep it forever.

If you don't eat the tomatoes soon, they will get really gross...I say, eat them and take the chances - I'm sure your farmer market dude makes sure they are safe. I'm keeping myself annoymous, so you can't blame me!!

Cute pic! I love it! I am sad about the tomatoes right now, I went to subway and they are even banning them, I really missed them on my sandwhich!!!
