Busy week doesn't even begin this one. Friday night Jonathan had his first sleepover, my cousin Cody came to spend the night with us ,kind of for Jonathan's birthday and the last little fun before school starts. Jonathan and Cody always have so much fun together. Since they were born 5 weeks apart and have always played so well together, we knew for a first sleepover it would be perfect. Who know adding an extra kid to the mix would make it less crazy around here?! Jonathan, Cody and Griffin had a ton of fun the whole time. Bed time was easy too. they just came to me about 9:30 and said they were tired and went to bed. I tucked them in and they were out! They had so much fun!
This week Halsey is 6 months old. I know I can't believe it either. She is sitting up a little and rolling over, Happy and Healthy. She weighs about 14 lbs. Yes, a little dainty girl, I have! Although she is just about to big for her 3-6 month pj's. I still can't believe it has been 6 months! Such a sweet little girl! I went to the store last night and I think every other person stopped to coo over her, of course she enchanted them with her eyes batting and a big smile. If I wasn't in a hurry to get all my shopping done before anyone cries or before Matt falls asleep so he can carry all the groceries in I would show everyone who stopped to stare at her the pictures of the equally as gorgeous boy versions I have at home waiting for me to bring home the bacon. However, I don't, I just rip her tiny hand from the grip of the stranger and thank them for the kind words and move on to find the best price for paper towels.
Saturday night I made a cake for Marcia's birthday on Sunday. She has just about every other holiday at her house and most birthdays and she was going to make her own birthday dinner and cake and I didn't think that was a good idea. Since I am usually busy feeding kids or keeping kids from throwing toys down the stairs or sometimes finally eating my dinner cold by the time clean up, and since she made her own birthday lunch for us all, I thought I could at least bring some yummy cake. See the picture of the completely FROM SCRATCH chocolate dream mouse cake. It got rave reviews! Matt stayed home from Church on Sunday to do more work on the landscaping out front (pics soon). I took the kids to church then came back to get him before we drove out to celebrate Aunt Marcia.
Finally, I took my baby to his first day of Kindergarten today! He went right in never looked back. I had the neighbor come over to watch the other 2 kiddos so I could walk Jonathan in to his first day and get a picture but there were too many people in the way so I didn't get a good one. FYI: It is much easier to leave your kid when there is not sewage falling from the ceiling. Neither one of us cried. It is a good day! I have a big boy, growing up so fast I blinked and he is 6 next week. But I have much to be thankful for. He is healthy, strong and able. So off to school to go get educated so you can buy that Ferrari you think you want when you get big! So far the new hours we will keep are not to bad, but tonight I will be going to sleep a little sooner. I am not used to getting up at a certain time to be anywhere so my brain is not used to this waking up to an alarm clock stuff It will take some getting used to again. It has been 5 years since I had to get up early EVERYDAY to get somewhere on time. The Days of leisure are no more...
