Halsey is 6 weeks old we get a smile and a tiny coo every once in a while. She is still a great sleeper a good eater and I should knock on wood when I say no sign of colic at all. 6 weeks is usually the pivotal point if they are still good sleepers they USUALLY stay good sleepers! We have a rough night here and there but it has not been anything in comparison to Griffin's crazy schedule. Speaking of Griffin we are trying something new. now that there are 3 of the little sleep monsters and Jonathan starts school in the fall I am preparing a new schedule. I bought a book on the suggestion of an avid follower and so far so GREAT. we were kinda already doing it as the book mentions but I refined and am sticking to the 'sleep rules'
and it is working Griffin has slept all night the last 2 nights straight Jonathan seems to be doing well with it too. So from now on it is bath at 7 and bed at 8:30 NO TV and if they stay in bed they can look at a book a few minutes. If they get up you don't speak you just guide them back to bed, *repeat as necessary, IF they get up more than 3 times I turn off the night light still not talking or looking at them The 1st night Griffin got up about 7 times before he fell asleep and slept until 8 am, Jonathan got up once to tattle but he also slept all night (not unusual for him however) 2nd night Griffin got up 4 times before he fell asleep. Jonathan was out by 9. Let me tell you this is no small feat. they would usually run like wild banshees until they were exhausted and I made them go to bed at 10 with a movie and prayed they would crash before midnight last night every single kid was asleep by 9:15. I was actually jumping up and down before I myself crashed before the news was over. Now back to the pictures. Griffin ate a Peanut butter sandwich for lunch I knew he wasn't allergic since a few weeks ago he ate a peanut granola bar so the trick is mostly just not getting near Jonathan with it. Yippie something quick and easy for lunch. It is about time I say...Now for Jonathan I was loading the dishwasher and they boys were playing in their room when Jonathan bursts into a howling cry. Griffin comes running out and I am thinking oh just another regular toy battle I slowly get up check on Halsey sleeping away in the bouncy seat go into check on Jonathan and see why he is crying when I walk in and he is sitting on the bed with blood dripping down his arm, after prying his hands away so I can look I see a tiny gash on his eye carry him to the sink wash him off, he sees the blood and thinks he is dying of course. Call Daddy to see how close to home he is. it was 5 and he was still in Carrollton MO so I called up Julie and asked her where her dad was I was thinking Jonathan might need a stitch on his face. He happened to be at his Independence office and she called to tell him we were on the way. Kevin (Julie's Hubby) met me at the door and since the office was closed we got right in. Dr Harris took a look and since it was not really deep he could pinch it closed and do the glue instead of a stitch right there in the doctors office. So Jonathan is all glued up and today just a little bruised.

I was just so thankful Dr Harris was in Independence and always so willing to help us out. I did not really feel like a trip to the ER anyway! So big shout out to Dr Harris (Julie and Kevin too) for once again saving the day!

p.s. this picture is before the glue and the little boo boo was made by Griffin throwing the metal toy handcuffs at his brothers face.
